Universal Power Group has introduced a new solar-powered generator, Ecotricity ECO1800, under the new Ecotricity series.
The Ecotricity ECO1800 comprises an 1800W inverter featuring four 120V outlets, and a 50-foot cord that is suitable for producing eco-friendly emergency power, remote power and home backup power, for both outdoor and indoor applications.
The ECO1800 has an ultra-efficient solar panel that has been designed to provide faster system recharge. This feature eliminates the sound or dangerous emissions normally occur in portable gas-powered generators. The system features a cart, which enables the foldable solar panel to be shifted effortlessly and placed for maximum exposure to solar light. The system can also be charged via standard AC or DC power supply. It is a plug-and-play product and thus eliminates installation process.
The ECO1800’s solar panel needed to be exposed to sunlight for 12 h to get complete charge. The solar energy thus stored can be used to power radios and lanterns via its 1800W of continuous AC power. The generator can provide emergency power and home backup to radios, refrigerators, mobile phone chargers and TVs in the case of power failure, and supply power for garage doors, lights and sump pumps to reduce the effect of storms.
The fully charged ECO1800 can offer emergency power up to 4 h for home appliances. The system is also best suitable for small offices during power failure, as it provides a power backup of up to 10 h. The Ecotricity ECO1800 will be available in the market during the start of next spring. Other Ecotricity line solar-powered products are expected to be launched in 2011.
