Beautiful Earth Group (BE), a renewable energy developing company, has declared the commencement of construction for its Del Sur Solar power production plant located in Antelope Valley in California. The project, once completed, will remain the biggest solar power production facility in the City of Lancaster.
The Del Sur Solar power generation facility will incorporate two 19 MW solar PV power production facilities over 187 acres of land. The solar power production project is planned over an unutilized agricultural land to reduce the ecological impact. The proposed solar farm is located very close to the substation of Southern California Edision (SCE), thus eliminating the need for installing new transmission lines to transport the power generated from the facility. The technology incorporated in the power generation does not require water for power generation, thus maintaining the water source of the location. The plant is anticipated to generate over 16 GWh of power every year, which can be utilized to supply power to around 10,000 homes. The company is in the process of finalizing the power purchase agreements with Southern California Edison.
Lex Heslin, President and CEO of Beautiful Earth, expressed his happiness in involving in a project to produce green energy. He added that the company has chosen the Del Sur site after an extensive search over a number of sites in the state of California.
