Freehold Regional High School District will install a solar panel system on the roof of six schools in the district. The members of the district’s Board of Education have approved the plan.

For the project, the officials may seek to put public referendums to fund capital projects. The rooftop solar panel systems will be installed on Freehold Borough, Howell, Marlboro, Colts Neck, Freehold Township and Manalapan schools.

Spiezle Architectural Group has been selected to take up the prereferendum work for the solar panel installation.
