China Sunergy to Supply Solar Modules for Installation over Nanjing South Railway Station

China Sunergy, a Nanjing, China-based solar cell and module producer, declared that it has contracted an accord with CEEG (Nanjiing) Solar Energy Research Institute to provide 7 MWsolar modules for the roof project of the Nanjing South Railway Station.

The rooftop solar installation over the Nanjing South Railway Station is considered to be one of the biggest stand-alone types of building integrated (BIPV) solar project over a single building structure. The railway station regarded to be a major stop in the Beijing – shanghai high speed railway line will become the biggest renewable energy efficient public utility construction in China on completion of the project.

Stephen Zhifang Cai, China Sunergy’s CEO, expressed his happiness to be the solar module supplier for the biggest stand-alone BIPV power production development in the world. He added that the solar panels manufactured by the company when fixed over the building will increase responsiveness of the general public towards utilizing renewable energy and he expressed the willingness of his company to play a vital role in erecting the renewable energy projects of the country.
