Canadian Solar, a Ontario, Canada headquartered solar company, declared that it was one among the solar module suppliers selected to supply solar modules for one of the biggest solar power production facility being built by SunEdison, an auxiliary company of MEMC Electronic Materials at Italy.
The interconnection facility for the 70 MW photovoltaic solar power production facility located near the town Rovigo in Northeast Italy was completed by SunEdison in a period of nine-months.
First Reserve bought the ownership of the Rovigo solar power production facility through an earlier declared partnership arrangement between First Reserve and SunEdison. Partners Group and Perennius Capital Partners who have invested in the project along with First Reserve in partnership are advising and managing the investment programs of the project. First Reserve has of late declared the completion of project finance worth 276M with some of the well known European banks.
During the life time of the Rovigo solar plant it will bring in notable ecological benefits. The power generated from the facility is enough to supply over 16,500 homes. It can stop generation of over 40,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year, which can be equated keeping 8,000 cars off the road.
