ReneSola Introduces Virtus Wafer with Improved Cell Efficiency

ReneSola, a solar wafer manufacturer and supplier of solar modules, declared that it has formulated a new type of multicrystalline wafer called Virtus Wafer that can improve the efficiency of the solar cell.

The new Virtus Wafer reaches an average cell to power conversion efficiency of around 17.5% and offers 1% more conversion rate than the other solar panels that use multi-crystalline wafers. The new technology also enables manufacture of solar panels at a comparatively reduced price than the solar panels that deploy multi-crystalline wafer technology.

According to Xianshou Li, chief executive officer of ReneSola, the new product is the result of the continuous efforts taken by its research team and the company will continue with its research work to improve power production capability of the wafers and stay ahead in the race. The company is planning to commence its initial product manufacturing in the first part of 2011.
