British Columbia, Canada-based P2Solar, has declared plans to develop a 10-MW capacity solar power facility in Ontario, Canada.
For the past few months, the company has carried out a comprehensive study about the feed-in-tariff program in Ontario and has concluded that developing a solar project in the area is profitable. Ontario currently, has one of the best solar incentive programs in North America.
The Chief Executive Officer at P2Solar, Raj-Mohinder Gurm said that the company is satisfied with the Ontario’s feed-in-tariff program that does not need a minimum financial investment in order to develop a plant in the region.
P2Solar’s primary market is India. However, legislative barriers in India slow down its development in the region. The company has recently discarded the proposal for a 25-MW solar power plant in India. The firm also develops solar projects in Canada and the Middle East.
Before starting the development, P2Solar is partnering with an Ontario-based real estate company that has experience in site selection and is operating within the limits of the feed-in-tariff program. The company will commence the construction of solar power facility once the site selection has been completed. The company is now analyzing two potential locations in Ontario.
