Dominion North Carolina Power Contracts Power Purchase Agreement with 510nano

Dominion North Carolina Power, a division of Dominion, declared that it has contracted a 15 years power purchase agreement with a Washington, D.C.-based renewable energy solutions company, 510nano. Presently, Dominion supplies electricity to around 120,000 retail clients located in North Carolina.

According to the contracted accord, 510nano will construct a 1.4 MW photovoltaic solar power production facility over seven acres of land located in Northampton County, N.C. The company is planning to commence the construction in the beginning of March this year. The other details of the contract are not available and kept confidential. Dominion is in the process of setting up a 4 MW solar power generation plant in Halifax County, Va. Dominion also receives the extra solar power generated from the residential solar systems of its 400 odd customers located in its service areas of Virginia and North Carolina.
