Ceradyne to Open Second Solar Energy Ceramic-Related Factory

Ceradyne declared that it has opened Ceradyne Tianjin Advanced Materials, a 218,000 square-foot production facility in Tianjin, China. The new factory will manufacture high-purity ceramic crucibles used for the shaping of large sized polysilicon ingots that are utilized in the production of photovoltaic silicon solar cells.

The new production facility is situated over a 13.7 acre plot owned by Ceradyne in the economic area of Tianjin Airport. The production in the factory will be managed by Chinese managers and technicians who underwent training at the  Ceradyne Thermo Materials' management facility based in United States.

Bruce Lockhart, Vice President of Ceradyne, who is responsible for the solar energy efforts of the company called the opening event as exciting for Ceradyne and more importantly for Ceradyne Thermo Materials. He said that his company opened its first crucible factory in Tianjin around three and half years back and now has opened its second facility to meet the growing demands of its Chinese Clients.
