The United States Department of Energy has declared a funding of around $10 million in the current year to support the estimation, formulation and installation of energy efficient and clean energy development projects over the tribal lands.
The funding for the project will be managed by the Tribal Energy Program of DOE. The funding will be utilized to enlarge the usage of clean energy sources, conserve money and energy and improve financial growth for tribal communities.
The funds will be made available for the tribal energy resource development organizations, tribal syndicates who provide lands for such energy developments and to individual Indian tribes. The funds will sustain project developments such as initial formulation of projects and building the planned capability, energy efficiency improvement and usage and renewable clean energy development and usage. The program has earmarked specific amount of financing to sustain each area of development.
The DOE will provide up to $1.5 million to sustain projects that concentrate on capacity construction and strategic planning, which comprise training programs and study on infrastructure and energy resources. The initiatives focused on renewable energy usage and energy efficiency will receive up to $4 million to analyze the financial and technical viability of the prospective renewable energy projects or energy efficiency improvements.
