SunConnex Plans to Develop Solar Power Projects in the Netherlands

Jos Schlangen, Business Development Manager at SunConnex, a Dutch company supplying solar electric systems and products, has declared that the company is planning to develop solar power plants with installed capacities ranging from 5 MW to 10 MW.

Schlangen said that the company is waiting for the release of the feed-in-tariff from the Dutch government before starting the actual development of the solar power plants. The company could not reveal the names as it is in the stage of closing deals, he added.

Schlangen further said that the projects would need an investment of approximately $100 million. However, the exact timeframe for the solar projects has not been decided yet, he added.

The Dutch government will announce the final feed-in tariff rates during the second quarter  of 2011. The feed-in tariff is an assured amount allocated to investors of renewable energy via a universal charge. SunConnex may include regional collaborators to assist the funding and development of the solar power projects. The company is currently working on site analysis and project proposals.
