Western Wind Energy Chooses RMT to Install Wind Turbines

Western Wind Energy (Western Wind) declared that it has chosen RMT, clean energy engineering and building company, to build two of its wind power generation facilities in Arizona and California.

RMT has commenced the building of the wind energy facilities and will install 120 MW turbines for the Windstar Project located in Tehachapi, California and 10 MW turbines for Kingman power generation project located in Mohave County, Arizona. Both the wind projects will feature Gamesa 2.0 MW wind turbines. Under the terms of the accord RMT will perform the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) service for the civil construction as well as the electrical Balance of Plant (BOP).

Western Wind Energy is looking forward to commission and begin the commercial functioning of the Kingman wind power generation facility in the second quarter of 2011 and that of the Windstar facility in the fourth quarter of the year 2011. On completion, the power generated from the two facilities can meet the electric power requirements of around 35,000 homes every year.
