New Energy Technologies Develop First- Generation Working Prototype of SolarWindow Technology

New Energy Technologies declared that its researchers have productively formulated a first-generation 12”x12” working prototype model of its SolarWindow technology, which is proficient to produce power utilizing a see-thru glass.

The current introduction is an improvement over its earlier 4”x4” version brought out in September 2010. The latest version is considered to be an important element in the progress of the company in achieving a commercially viable product.

The latest prototype version unveiled scores an increase of 300% in size over its earlier version and has become the first of its kind functional SolarWindow of its size. The researchers have constructed the prototype by employing a patent pending process of the company for spraying the power-generating coating over the glass directly. The new process does away with the costly and more unwieldy type of high-temperature or high-vacuum manufacturing methods normally deployed by the present solar manufacturing companies.

According to John Conklin, the company’s President and CEO,  the current development takes the company’s SolarWindow technology more closer to its use in commercial and residential applications.
