PHOTON to Organize Solar Electric Utility Conference in San Francisco, California

PHOTON will be organizing its 5th Solar Electric Utility Conference that will be held in San Francisco, California on 17th February 2011.

The event will feature experts and investors from the utilities, regulators and the solar industry who will review the challenges faced in the solar market and the strategies to overcome such obstacles in North America’s solar power market. They will also address the impact of solar power on the power-generation sector and will discuss economic challenges as well as trends and opportunities related to large-scale and distributed solar power.

The North American power sector is set to experience a major growth in view of the large-scale solar projects that are presently under construction. However, according to the conference Chairman, Garrett Hering, the solar industry still faces a number of problems. Issues such as finding a suitable location for solar development, inclusion of large-scale solar into the grid and funding the development of such volumes have to be overcome.

The conference will feature major solar market companies such as Rubenius, Power Advisory, The California Independent System Operator, The California Public Utility Commission, CPS Energy, Quanta Services, Pacific Gas & Electric, SunPower and First Solar.
