Franklin Products, a leader in the field of upholstery products for the commercial airline industry, along with GridPoint, a leading smart energy solution provider, has declared a partnership for a 100 kW PV solar array at the Franklin manufacturing and distribution facility at Dallas.
The solar system contains 576 Canadian Solar CS5A-180W panels, which could produce 140,000 kWh of electricity per year and meet at least half of the company’s power requirements.
According to Bob Lehew from Franklin Products, the company was dedicated to providing the finest engineering, services and products for the airline industry. However, they were equally committed to energy conservation. The GridPoint solar energy system had helped the company to not only meet the company’s sustainability targets but has also helped reduce the energy expenses to a considerable extent.
This system is accompanied by a monitoring solution, which records and displays both the current and the past energy produced by the company’s manufacturing operations. The monitoring system shows the current weather conditions, consumption data and monetary savings realized by the solar system in terms of days, weeks, months and year along with lifetime increments and also the environmental input towards eliminating greenhouse gases.
