Kennedy Business Centers has proclaimed that the installation of a 100-kW solar photovoltaic system at its commercial business park in Alpharetta, GA is complete.
Radiance Solar, an Atlanta-based designer, developer and installer of ready-to-use solar power systems, has designed and installed the solar array, and is active in Sawnee EMC’s Net Energy Metering Program, which pays Kennedy for every kWh of solar energy produced.
The photovoltaic system is one among the large roof-mounted solar photovoltaic systems in Georgia, comprising 450 Schuco solar modules that supply 133,650 kWh of green energy into the electric grid annually. Kennedy’s interconnection agreement with Sawnee EMC will make this new solar system an important asset and lucrative investment for the alternative energy portfolio of Sawnee EMC.
The Solar Net Energy Metering Program encourages alternative energy production with the customers of Sawnee by paying a premium for clean energy produced and supplied to the Sawnee grid. The deal with Kennedy Business Centers is the most recent of Sawnee’s initiatives targeted to promote clean energy technology to the seven-county service region of EMC in northern Georgia.
