Intertek, a supplier of quality and safety services required by a broad range of industries all over the world, declared that it has supplemented its Intertek lab located in Menlo Park, CA, with a PV lab with solar photovoltaic testing and certification potentialities.
The new testing facility will now have a rain room, environmental chambers, solar simulators, and mechanical loading and impact testing apparatuses as available in its labs in Shanghai, China and Lake Forest, CA. The company also offers PV/Solar testing and certification servicing through its partners in Europe.
The various testing and certification services offered by Intertek include ETL Mark for observing the safety standards required by North America, the PV GAP Mark, CE Marking services required for European countries, CB test reports and CGC-Solar certification. The IECEE CB Scheme certification permits the company to perform one set of tests that will enable the manufacturer’s to access the solar markets in over 40 countries that recognize the CB Scheme, thus saving the total time required for testing and marketing the product. The company is an OSHA-accredited Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) NRTL in the USA and is also recognized as a Testing Organization (TO) and a Certification Organization (CO) by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).
Intertek, in less than three years time after opening its first PV/Solar lab in Southern California has increased its PV/Solar capacity in North America by almost three times. Along with its other facilities now in Menlo Park, California lab will provide the PV module certification and performance and reliability examination programs for the clients.
