Sprott Power Acquires Wind Power Assets in Canada

Sprott Power, a Canada-based developer and financier for alternative energy projects, has proclaimed that the company has closed the acquisition of a wind power company, Sky Generation.

Sky Generation, now a 100% subsidiary of Sprott Power, manages three wind power projects in Ontario, Canada. The projects consist of 13 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 21.6 MW.

The projects supply the generated clean energy to Bullfrog Power and the Ontario Power Authority through the long-term power purchase deals. Meanwhile, Sprott Power has entered into an asset acquisition deal to purchase almost all of Amherst Wind Power’s assets that comprises the 30 MW power purchase deal with Nova Scotia Power.

Sprott Power anticipates completing the purchase of Amherst Wind Power within 60 days, subject to clearance of all terms related to closing. Sprott Power plans to complete the development of the wind farm within 12 months of the closing of the purchase.
