Holmen, E.ON Enter Partnership to Develop Wind Project

Holmen and E.ON have contracted an accord to develop a wind power project in the municipality of Örnsköldsvik in partnership. Holmen is uniquely placed, as the leading landing owner in Sweden, while E.ON is known for building large utility-level wind farms.

The partnership requires the installation of wind turbines in three dissimilar locations mainly situated on Holmen’s land and long term lease agreements will be signed with private land owners where required. The wind project proposal is found to be suitable by the Municipality of Örnsköldsvik. The joint wind power development will have approximately 70 wind turbines generating around 330 GWh of clean power. The joint venture is based on combined wind project development with the investment from both the companies to build renewable energy capability.

The investment decision on the project is anticipated to be taken by the companies in 2013 or before and the project is expected to get completed on placing of the wind turbines by 2015.
