Yingli Green Energy Signs Accord with Borrego Solar to Supply Solar PV Modules

Yingli Green Energy Holding, a vertically integrated solar PV producer marketing its products under the brand name Yingli Solar, declared that Yingli Green Energy Americas, is a U.S. subsidiary company that has contracted a new solar PV module supply accord with Borrego Solar Systems, a San Diego-based company.

The accord will require Yingli Americas to provide 20 MW solar PV modules to Borrego Solar during 2011. Borrego Solar is expected to utilize the modules in various commercial level solar projects in the USA. Earlier in 2010, Borrego Solar bought 10 MW solar PV modules from Yingli and the modules were utilized in many of the commercial projects. Some of the projects that utilized the modules include San diego County Water authority, City of Ridgecrest and San diego Community College District.

The completed projects generated around 400 clean energy jobs and are  anticipated to generate enough power to supply 8,500 homes.
