Moser Baer Clean Energy Buys Thin Film Solar Modules from First Solar

Moser Baer Clean Energy (MBCEL), the auxiliary solar company of Moser Baer Projects (MBPPL), and First Solar, have signed a purchase agreement.

According to the agreement, MBCEL will buy 25 MW DC advanced thin-film modules manufactured by First Solar for its proposed solar power projects. The delivery of the modules is anticipated to commence by 30th June 2011.

According to Lalit Jain, Moser Baer Clean Energy’s CEO of International Operations, MBCEL is involved in the development of over 300 MWp solar power generation projects in India, Australia, USA, Italy and Germany. He thanked First Solar for making the supply of the modules needed for the initial project requirements and said that the accord makes a good beginning for a lasting relationship.

TK Kallenbach, Executive Vice President of Marketing & Product Management, in First Solar, expressed his satisfaction to collaborate and to provide thin film technology for the solar projects of MBCEL. He added that India presents vast opportunities for solar energy development to enable First Solar to join its up coming solar energy market.
