Heraeus to Double Capacity and Reinforce Leadership Status in 2010

Heraeus PV Business Unit, a leading developer of front and back side paste utilized in crystalline solar cells, foresees a great 2011 soon after achieving market leadership in 2010 by sales to several of the top ten crystalline solar manufacturers all over the world. In 2010, the PV Business Unit appreciably increased its growth and is expecting to double its  capacity during 2011.

It had increased its manufacturing capacity in 2010 to a great extent and had also increased the number of technical staff. The unit became the voice of the silver industry due to the bimonthly e-newsletter titled, Silver Lining: An Insider’s View on the Silver Market. According to Andy London, Heraeus PV Business Unit’s Global Business Unit Manager in West Conshohocken, the company’s excellent product efficiency reputation along with their extensive experience were the main reasons for their achieving the position of market leader in the year 2010. He stated that they were hopeful of doubling their global capacity by the ending of this year.

Heraeus had introduced all through the year many new products for back and front side silver pastes. The SOL9383, which has been developed for N-Type Crystalline cells gives exceptional contact on the N-Type cells’ P+ surface and was utilized on a large-scale by a global vertically integrated PV manufacturer. The SOL109 paste, which was launched in 2010 for MWT cells, multi and mono crystalline silicon wafers provide high conductivity, superb solderability and low shunting behavior. The new SOL109 series developed in 2010 offers even more performance abilities when compared to the currently available pastes used for crystalline PV cells, which was an improved version of the 2009 released SOL9235H. Ultimately, the SOL200 Series was launched for use in backside tabbing conductors for high adhesion and performance levels and also for its good solderability and low costs.
