The University of Maryland Energy Research Center (UMERC) has declared that it has been chosen to attend the Technology Showcase at the ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit, jointly hosted by Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) of the Department of Energy and the Clean Technology and sustainable Industries Organization (CTSI).
Hundreds of top engineers and leading clean tech establishments vied to take part in the Showcase in order to gain entry into the future of renewable energy.
The opportunity will allow UMERC, to display its technology before a gathering of around 2,000 people, which includes government officials, corporate executives, business people, investors and top researchers. The event will feature over 200 innovative technologies demonstrated by corporations, ARPA-E awardees and the Department of Energy Research and Development. UMRC will display its innovative technologies like the Thermo-elastic cooling concept that utilizes a smart solid refrigerant to do away with use of halo fluorocarbon in cooling systems that cause global warming, low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells to meet the requirements of low-temperature functioning in traditional as well as in hydrogen fuel process and active PV energy transition concept to improve the performance of solar cells by utilizing surface acoustic waves.
The second yearly ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit will happen at the Gaylord Convention Center away from Washington, D.C from February 28th to March 2nd 2011. The Energy Summit will feature top level speakers and Research and Development units from 14 Corporate Acceleration Partners dedicated to commercialization of technology.
