Phoenix Solar, a system integrator based in Oman, has been selected by Saudi Aramco, the largest producer of oil in the world, to build a solar power plant. The ground mounted plant, the largest in Saudi Arabia, is to generate 3.5MW of power.

Naizak Global Engineering Systems and Phoenix Solar are to work together for designing, connecting and building of the solar park.

The Solar power park is to be located on the outskirts of Riyadh, near King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC). The project is expected to be completed by September 2011.

Phoenix Solar had installed a PV testing field at Saudi Aramco’s headquarters last year, to analyze various module technologies. The project was completed successfully, and it helped Phoenix Solar win the tender for building the solar park.
