Thin ionomer-based encapsulant sheets, also called DuPont PV5400 series, produced by DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions are aimed at protecting delicate thin film solar modules.
These photovoltaic (PV) solutions are capable of reducing cost for manufacturers, increasing speed, and delivering more power from each unit. The PV5400 series was designed with an aim to promote renewable sources of energy.
The DuPont 5400 series are equipped with a host of useful features such as electrical resistance, moisture resistance, strength, longer service life, and ever-lasting integrity. These PV solutions reduce the cost of manufacturing by eliminating the need for additional edge sealing or caulking.
More clean energy can be produced from each thin-film solar module combined with the benefit of lower manufacturing costs. The encapsulants of the PV5400 series do not experience severe current leakages owing to the fact that it offers 100 times more electrical resistance than other ordinary encapsulants.
DuPont PV5400 series allows its users to realize productivity gains by reducing module lamination time by half on thin film production lines. These ionomer sheets, with thicknesses from 400 and 500 microns, is available in easy-to-use roll form for easy storage and handling purposes involved in high-speed and large-volume manufacturing.
