Biosphere Development has confirmed that they were planning to install a GEECF Biosphere Process System at Thailand’s Tha Sai in Muang Samut Sakhon.
This will be operated by its local partner Bangkok World Green Energy. Currently, Biosphere is marketing the Biosphere Systems after procuring a license from the Global Environmental Energy (GEECF). Its partner Bangkok World Green Energy is in the process of negotiating with Biosphere for being an exclusive operator and marketer of the Biosphere Systems for a 25 year period in Thailand. Bangkok World Green Energy’s Chairman, Lek Kitiparaporn has revealed that they have a plan of funding and operating 50 Biosphere Systems in Thailand during the next two years. Revenue comes in from both tipping fees and from the sale of electricity, construction materials and potable water from the Biosphere systems.
Thailand with a population of more than 67 million has an electricity consumption of 134.4 billion kWh per year, which is increasing by 8.1% every year. Being a newly industrialized economy with a GDP growth of 8.0% in 2010, it has increasing exports and an expanding private investment. Biosphere finds an exceptional market here in Thailand, which is the second largest economy in Southeast Asia, the first being Indonesia. The Royal Thai Government completely supports the Alternative Energy Programs and also offers tax incentives with other privileges for such projects.
In 2010, GEECF commenced manufacture of Biosphere Systems in Thailand and it is presently focused on the manufacture of multiple systems for supplying to the True Green Energy Facility located at Pampanga in the City of San Fernando in the Philippines and also to the second facility of the Bangkok World Green Energy at Sinsakhon Industrial Park in Bangkok. GEECF obtains revenue from the operating Biospheres via Royalty, Fee agreements and Sales along with sublicenses and licenses for a period of 25 years.
