Ballard Power Systems Finalizes the Fuel Cell Supply Accord with K2 Pure Solutions

Ballard Power Systems, a company that offers clean energy fuel cell products that are utilized to optimize the power systems for a variety of usages, declared that it has concluded an accord to install a fuel cell power generator at the bleach plant of K2 Pure Solutions in Pittsburg, California.

The patented CLEARgen fuel cell system to be installed by Ballard will change the spin-off hydrogen into adjustable power output that meets the power demand and will partly fulfill the power requirements of the advanced bleach plant. The company is planning to complete the installation of the system and its commissioning by the middle of 2012.

Ballard and K2 Pure Solutions have declared the entering of the accord earlier in August 2010. The final signing of the agreement was kept in abeyance pending the receipt of the normal air permit exemption for operating the fuel system from the Air Quality Management District of the Bay Area and funding from Self Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) of California. Ballard now corroborates the receipt of the air permit exemption and Final Reservation Notice Letter from SGIP.
