DRI Energy has declared that it has completed the 320 kW Solar PV system for San Jose’s Second Harvest Food Bank in California. A total of 1100 modules were installed on the 1.25 acre roof.
The system is expected to function for a 25 year period and bring in savings of about $3million, which would mean six million more meals for the local community members.
The system was sponsored by Cypress Semiconductor & SunPower has donated the high-efficiency solar modules. DRI Energy has also contributed by charging reduced fees for the construction and offering extended labor services. Local labor has been used for the project development and thus contributed to the sustainability activities.
Kathryn Jackson, Second Harvest Food Bank’s CEO, has commented that the solar installation was done with great ease by the highly professional DRI team members. She also mentioned that DRI Energy’s immediate responses to queries, thoughtful planning and flawless execution of the installation processes all contributed to the successful completion of the project and was all praise for the DRI team members.
Steve Kelley, DRI Energy’s Executive Vice President stated that his company had core values such as completing the work in the safest manner and working with integrity. He also mentioned that his company was committed to assist Second Harvest in achieving savings of more than $3 million.
