Hanwha SolarOne Signs Supply Agreement with CNBM International

Hanwha SolarOne, China-based developer of wafer, photovoltaic cells and silicon ingots, has made an agreement with CNBM International to supply 50MW of PV modules.

The contract is an extension to the previous agreement made between the two firms in September 2010 for delivering 10MW of PV modules during that year.

CNBM International, subsidiary of China National Building Materials Group  and a major steel developer, assists the ‘Energy-Saving Building Material Subsidies for Rural Areas’ project of the PRC government. The company is involved in several initiatives related to alternate energy development.

Dr. Peter Xie, President and CEO of Hanwha SolarOne, expressed his pleasure in providing their sophisticated PV modules for CNBM International’s projects. He mentioned that their products are well received by major global companies, giving a positive onset to the current fiscal year. He added that their present visibility in the Chinese market will further increase, since the nation is adopting renewable energy solutions like sonar.
