DRI Energy, Oro Loma Sanitary District, Solar Power Partners Complete Photovoltaic Solar Project

DRI Energy has partnered with  Oro Loma Sanitary District and Solar Power Partners to complete a 468kW photovoltaic solar system.

The system is designed to generate 822,000 kWh, which translates to saving an equivalent of 590 metric tons of CO2, or equal to the CO2 emissions of 72 homes, or the equivalent greenhouse gas emissions of 113 vehicles.

The solar project used around 2,100 of 220 watt of Trina Solar modules installed on a single-axis tracking system from Raytracker. The photovoltaic solar system will utilize nearly 75% of the workforce from the nearby areas, thereby creating more green jobs.

Solar Power Partners of Mill-Valley has developed and financed the project and will also own and operate the system. It has entered into a solar Power Purchase Agreement with   Oro Loma Sanitary District. This will entitle the district to purchase electricity at fixed discounted rates, without having to invest in the solar project. The PV solar system is expected to generate around 16,066,934 kWh of electricity and help Oro Loma save over $2 million over a period of twenty years.
