SmartHeat, a clean technology energy conserving industry based in China, declared that it has concluded the acquisition of Gustrower Warmepumpen (GWP), a heat pumps designing and manufacturing company, from Conergy.
This acquisition will allow SmartHeat to stretch its clean energy solutions to the fast developing heat pump markets in China and Europe and will enable its clients to buy technically advantageous heat pump expertise at competitive costs.
The heat pump systems are deployed to provide heating, cooling and hot water required by commercial and residential buildings and the process heat required for industrial usages by consuming negligible amount of electric power. Heat pumps are currently substituting the conventional pumps that utilize coal, oil or gas and use renewable energy sources such as solar thermal heat, air or soil heat or heat recovered from exhaust air or wastewater. Heat pumps offer advantages such as reduction in operational cost, energy efficiency and cutback in green house gas emissions and above all a single machine can be used to provide both heat and cooling solutions.
The advantages available in the use of heat pumps are catching up in countries such as Austria and Germany. More number of new buildings in these countries are currently deploying modern heat pumps in place of the conventional fossil fuel pumps.
SmartHeat is planning to display the GWP heat pumps at the Frankfurt ISH trade fair to be held from March 15th to 19th, 2011.
