Freedom Environmental Services has signed a three year agreement with Clean Fuel for the supply of Yellow Grease.
Freedom’s management considers that during the next three years, if maximum volumes are achieved by Freedom’s subsidiary, Grease Recovery Solutions, the contract value could exceed $18 million. Michael Borish, the CEO and President, has commented that they are thrilled to team up with Clean Fuel Companies headed by Lee Maher for the supply of yellow recycled grease, for generation of renewable electricity. The biodiesel, which would be produced using this grease would be utilized in the production of renewable electricity, which in turn would be used by Solar Blue, a sister concern of Clean Fuel. He also noted that Solar Blue had won a 20 year exclusive contract for supplying Lincoln Financial Field, which was home to NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.
Solar Blue and Clean Fuel’s CEO and Chairman, Lee Maher was happy to sell his yellow grease operation to Freedom and also to buy back the accumulated oil for renewable energy. According to him, this asset reorganization would permit both Solar Blue and Clean Fuel to concentrate on producing clean electricity for the Central Florida region and at the same time expand their operations to include the NFL stadium and the Philadelphia Eagles. Grease Tec had been acquired by Clean Fuel on 13th January, 2011.
