DEGERenergie to Supply Solar Tracking Systems to Spain

DEGERenergie, a global provider of solar tracking systems, declared that it has obtained an order from Construção e Manutenção Electromecânica (CME) for the supply of its open ground specific TOPtraker 8.5 model single-axis photovoltaic (PV) tracking systems for a solar farm designed to generate 3.5 MW of power and located in southern Spain.

DEGERenergie will assist CME in the installation of 3,044 TOPtraker 8.5 solar tracker systems with an incline of 30° angle in a solar farm close to Villanueva de Córdova in Andalusia Province. The project whose installation is afoot is anticipated to be ready and start generating energy to be fed into the utility power supply in the middle of June 2011.

According to Artur Deger, DEGERenergie’s CEO, CME has chosen TOPtrakers of the company for its incorporated smart sensing engineering that tracks the movement of the sun to yield more energy. The company had earlier installed more than 9,000 solar tracking systems in four large sized solar farms in Italy with a combined production capability of 11 MW.
