Juhl Wind, a community wind power providing company, has declared the completion of the Adams Wind Project located in Meeker County in West Central Minnesota and announced the date for commencing its commercial production.
Juhl Wind performed the role of the owner’s agent and developed the construction stage of the project costing around $42 million. The development of the project was declared in December 2009 and the project commenced its constructions in October 2010.
The Adams Wind Project incorporates 12 Alstom ECO 86 wind turbines and generates around 19.8 MW of clean wind power. The power generated from the project will be sold to Xcel Energy under a 20 year power purchase agreement (PPA) contracted with the company.
The Adams Wind Project is built under the ‘Community Wind’ format of Juhl Wind and the wind farm is owned collectively by the local residents and the farmers who have given the land for the project.
