WELTEC BIOPWER, a German-based company engaged in the building of biogas plants, declared the construction commencement of the 1.5 MW Central Hessia biogas plant located within the municipality of Ebsdorfergrund.
WELTEC BIOPWER will supply the total gas feed-in and gas processing expertise required for the plant.
The proposed plant in addition to having biogas processing facility will also have a separation plant to develop the digestate into organic fertilizer with increased level of solid matter to enable convenient storage and deportation. The plant is designed to process around 140 million cubic feet of biogas into natural gas. The chemical amine treatment proposed for use in the plant bonds the carbon dioxide held in the biogas to the cleaning agent amine and the process will increase the presence of methane in the biogas.
The increased level of methane presence in the biogas after the chemical treatment process cuts down the need to add conditioning gas in the feed-in plant. This feature improves the functional efficiency of the plant significantly. The company has adequate experience in implementing such process and the procedure fully addresses the issues related to maintaining the purity and methane slip.
The Central Hessia biogas plant was originated and designed by ALTUS a Karlsruhe, Germany- based company specialized in renewable energy technologies.
