Second Wind, a company that provides wind measurements systems, has declared that Boreal Renewable Energy Development is deploying its Nomad 2 Wind Resource Data Loggers to bring in wind energy for the use of New Yorkers.
Boreal presently utilizes Nomad 2 Wind Resource Data Loggers to assess the wind potential and direction for the deployment of wind turbine over the roof of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New York City. The wind power gauging sensors erected between 19th and 23rd floors of the building will supply the details of wind speed and direction and the Nomad 2 data logger will collect and store the data. The wind potential assessment will assist in identifying the maximum wind power location for installing the wind turbine. The company is performing the tests on behalf of South Yarmouth, Mass-based full-service construction company, Williams Building.
The present rooftop wind generation project is one among the several projects where Second Wind’s wind measurement technology was used by Boreal. Earlier, during 2009 after assessing the wind potential by utilizing the Second Wind technology, Boreal had installed nine wind turbines over the Boston Museum of Science to meet its power requirement.
Boreal is presently using Second Wind’s technology to perform viability study on behalf of Kraft Group to assess the wind potential over the Gillette Stadium to erect wind turbines for the purpose of meeting the energy requirements of the stadium. Boreal is a licensed GSA vending company and has developed proficiency in handling government clients.
