Spire, USA- based solar company that provides turn-key manufacture lines for the production of solar PV modules and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services for the installation of solar systems, has declared the construction commencement of a 2 MW solar development.
The solar construction is performed for the Berkshire School over an area of eight acres in Sheffield, Massachusetts.
Spire is developing the solar facility for the not for profit private high-school jointly with PowerPlay Solar, a company engaged in the development of the project. The 2 MW solar project when completed will produce more than 2,300 MWh of clean energy every year full filling around 40% power requirement of the school. The school is looking forward to turning carbon neutral by the year 2016.
Roger G. Little, Spire Corporation’s Chairman and CEO, expressed excitement about the solar construction commencement at Berkshire School and explained the intention of the company to grow as they target large scale solar projects in the Northeast.
