TerraSmart, a Fort Myers, Florida, headquartered company that provides engineering design for solar racking, has declared that it will be partaking at Intersolar North America, to be held at the Moscone Center, in San Francisco from July 12th to 14th 2011. The company will be displaying its ground screw technology and TerraFarm, its latest ground mount structure.
The ground screw technology provided by TerraSmart can be incorporated and deployed with a range of solar racking systems such as concentrated solar power systems, solar trackers, and fixed ground mounts. The adaptable type of flange interface offered on the ground screw allows the use of a broad variety of pipe options normally used in solar installations. The ground screw technology allows easier and quicker installation than that of concrete foundations. The technology allows completion of up to 120 ground screw settings by deploying trained installers and proper erection equipment.
TerraFarm from TerraSmart has a novel mounting and exclusive foundation technology to produce quick and cost- effective ground mount applications from a single source. It does away with the interference of sub-contractors and allows the solar contractors to complete the solar installation utilizing a single source.
Currently, TerraSmart is erecting its TerraFarm, the first of its kind solar ground mount application, for the use of United States Naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The installation incorporating around 1,100 panels supplied by Solar World and erected over an old soccer field will generate around 300 kW of solar power for the use of a new aquatic center located in the island.
