SolarCraft, based in Sonoma and Novato, has completed the installation of solar electric panels at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, CA.
Now, the maintenance functions of the famous Marin County Golf Course are energized by renewable and clean energy.
The photovoltaic structure is built on the steel roof of the maintenance building of the Club. Sharp solar panels, made in America cover an area of 2,057 sq.ft. While decreasing the load at the local grid, this new structure will lower the utility costs of the Club. PG&E will store the excess energy generated for future use.
The solar panels in the system will directly convert sunlight into electrical energy and will produce energy around 37,147 kWh per annum. It compensates for by more than 90%, the annual energy utilized by the building. Annually, it will give out approximately 19 tons of harmful greenhouse gases. The amount of air pollution reduced in the next 30 years is estimated to be equal to eliminating around 1.3 million miles of driving. This Meadow Club Golf Course was designed by Dr. Alister MacKenzie in America and is located on Mt. Tamalpais.
