Wind Capital Group, a wind energy developing company, declared that it has chosen RMT to provide design and construction services for its Post Rock Wind Energy Facility.
The 201 MW clean energy generating facility will be placed in central Kansas located Lincoln and Ellsworth Counties. Earlier RMT assisted Wind Capital Group as the construction contractor during the construction of its 150 MW Lost Creek Wind Energy farm.
For the wind energy project, RMT will offer engineering, procurement and civil (EPC) services and will also assist in the building of electrical infrastructure to support the wind turbine installations. The electrical infrastructure and civil services to be provided by the company includes construction of roads, crane pads and paths, foundations for the installation of wind turbines, a below the ground collector system, wiring inside the wind turbine towers and building of two meteorological towers. RMT will also erect the wind turbine towers, complete the mechanical installation of the wind turbines, test the installation and provide inspection services.
RMT is planning to commence the construction of the Post Rock Wind Energy Facility in 2011 and anticipates completing it to get it commissioned during the second part of 2012. The power generated from the facility is enough to meet the power requirements of more than 70,000 homes.
