GE and Gehrlicher Solar Collaborate to Construct Large-Scale Solar Parks

Gehrlicher Solar and GE declared that they have started the construction of a new solar power facility in Aschheim, Germany. The new facility is one of the many projects planned between both the firms.

The solar power facility, conceived and constructed by Gehrlicher Solar, will incorporate thin film solar panels supplied by GE. The solar panels are designed for easy installation and allow expansion in large scale solar power plants. The 1 MW solar park will be located over an area of two hectares and generate enough power to meet the electricity requirements of around 300 homes. The project is anticipated to get completed in August this year.

Stephan Ritter, GE’s renewable energy business leader in Europe, stated that mixing the expertise and experience of Gehrlicher in the development of utility level solar projects across the world with solar technologies of GE will allow clients to have a winning solution. He added that the solar industry is expanding into new areas across the globe and the solar solutions offered by the company will add value to the industry.
