QSolar has secured an order worth $3.25 million to supply 2.5 MW of its Spraytek 79 solar photovoltaic modules to power up the Rendata project located close to Grants Pass in Southern Oregon.
QSolar will initially supply two sample houses and then start the mass deliveries in the beginning of 2012. The project completion is based on the earning of a US Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Certification, which is expected to be issued in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011.
Ra Power & Light is the developer of the Rendata project, which will use over 10,000 QSolar Spraytek 79 photovoltaic modules in 800 commercial buildings and houses. Every house will have a solar domestic hot water system with electric vehicle charging stations as an option and a 2.5 kW Spraytek 79 photovoltaic system.
QSolar’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Andreas Tapakoudes stated that the order addresses the wide acceptance of QSolar's Spraytek 79 photovoltaic system and the company’s growth in the South American and US solar markets. The company is also happy about the strategic partnership with Ra Power & Light, he added.
According to Michael Campbell, who serves as Managing Director at Ra Power & Light, QSolar's expertise and proprietary photovoltaic production method will provide a competitive edge to Ra Power & Light.
