Siemens Industry declared that Interconnect Solar Development has granted a multi-million dollars worth order for the development and supply of solar technology needed for the Idaho located Murphy Flats solar field.
The 20 MW installation is first of its kind of commercial solar development to be connected to the service territory of Idaho Power Company. IDACORP due to continued growth in peak power demand in the summer time at the flats is exploring to accommodate renewable energy sources like solar.
Siemens will produce the required solar technology at its West Chicago located plant. The technology supply from the company includes containers, transformers, and inverters. The project will get the advantage of utilizing the 1000 VDC inverters supplied by Siemens along with the 1000 VDC solar panels to harvest a maximum level of solar energy.
Siemens will supply its Sinvert photovoltaic (PV) inverter engineering in a multi-unit cluster design. The inverters are kept inside an environmentally managed and air-cooled container to manage an increased level of output requirements and continually work along with the solar panels during their anticipated life span of 20 years. The incorporated design also offers the cheapest Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE).
The Flats project will incorporate Siemens PV-WinCC SCADA software, to provide an improved integration of process and regular on-site or remote type of supervision and monitoring for the total communication, management and visual image of the solar power facility.
