AppliCad, a Melbourne, Australia-based professional CAD/CAM software development business, declared the successful launch of its latest SolarWizard software at the recently concluded San Francisco held InterSolar US 2011.
According to Ray Smith, AppliCad’s Managing Director, the company being a new entrant in the solar market was apprehensive about the outcome, but satisfied with the prospects available in the industry for the new software.
The three-dimensional modeling SolarWizard program supplied by AppliCad computes solar shadows and radiation over a three-dimensional model structure provided by the client and assists in pinpointing the maximum power generating location to deploy PV panels and other solar thermal equipment. The company has utilized its 20 plus years of exposure in developing modeling tools for the roofing industry in developing the three-dimensional modeling software.
The program utilizes the aerial image collections currently available to the building industry through the internet as well as through the private vendors along with its restyled image tools to assist installers, integrators and consultants to organize the right type of proposals for their clients right from their office without the need to visit client sites. The software program cuts down the time required in the preparation of proposals and saves money otherwise spent for getting such proposals from third party vendors.
The SolarWizard program enables modeling of the full client structure along with its surroundings, the shadow effects from the structures nearby and more. It allows creation of easy to follow maps of solar radiation and shadow for any place in the country on a three-dimensional structure. The report generator relates all the collected data and images and produces reports in the form of MS Word document.
