Harris Tea has declared the completion of the installation of its second solar power system.
The solar installation was completed by REC Solar, a leading solar installation company, which has completed over 6,000 installations all over the country. The company is planning to commence the solar system operation with a ribbon cutting ceremony participated by local city officials on 20th July 2011.
The 508.8 kW solar power installation completed over its New Albany Road, Moorestown, NJ, located building comprise 2.212 solar panels and will produce around 600,000 kW hours of power every year, which will meet nearly 60% of the yearly power needs of the company. The solar project received support from the Clean Energy Program of New Jersey.
The project when commissioned will cut down the carbon dioxide emissions of Harris Tea by over 450 t ever year, which can be equated to avoiding the usage of nearly 46,000 gal of gasoline. The solar installation during its life time will offset nearly 20 M lbs of green house gas discharges.
