Yingli Green Energy Holding, a vertically integrated solar PV products producing company, has declared that its Yingli Solar PV modules were erected in a mammoth solar power generation facility in Greece.
The utility-scale solar power producing plant located in Larissa, Greece with an installed capability of 10 MW will generate enough power to meet the power supply requirements of around 3,700 homes in the location. The company has been the exclusive solar PV module provider for the project.
The solar project was developed by Selected Energy, a fully owned auxiliary of Selected Textiles, a textiles group based in Greece. Selected Energy has specialized in the formulation and operation of clean energy projects and has considerable exposure in biomass and solar PV segments. Biosar Energy, a Greece-based solar systems specializing company providing integrated solutions for building and upkeep of large scale and medium solar PV systems, design and supply, has completed the solar installation. Piraeus Bank, a banking group in Greece, which supports clean energy businesses, has offered a long period non-recourse type of finance for the project.
Selected Textiles, is a vertically integrated cotton yarns producer in Europe. In addition to the 10 MW solar installation completed in Larissa the company has also completed a 5 MW biogas plant. It has plans to complete a 5 MW rooftop solar PV installation and a 5 MW biomass plant within the year 2011.
