TATA BP Solar India, a partnership between TATA Power and BP Solar, has declared the installation and commissioning of a 1 MW solar power generation plant in Maharashtra, India.
The solar plant is possessed and formulated by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd (BASSKL), under the IREDA managed Rooftop and Other Small Solar Power Generation Plant scheme covered by the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM)
The solar power project located in Arvindnagar, Osmanabad, in Maharashtra is spread over 4.5 acres of area. The project incorporates 4400 crystalline silicon solar modules each with a power generation capability of 230 W. The modules will utilize solar power and generate around 1.56 million units of clean energy every year. TATA BP Solar has entered into a service accord to offer operation and maintenance (O&M) services to the plant for a period of 10 years from the date of commissioning. The installed solar plant is anticipated to serve and generate power for a period of 25 years
TATA BP Solar has secured a number of EPC accords under IREDA sponsored solar projects. The company presently handles approximately 15 solar projects in various locations in India such as Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
JNNSM is an Indian government sponsored scheme for the use of solar energy. The mission has set a target of achieving 20,000 MW of grid linked solar power and 2,000 MW of off grid solar power generation by the year 2022.
