DEGERenergie intone with the growing interest for the development of solar power production for self-use has declared the introduction of MLD tracking facility.
It will showcase its TOPtraker 8.5 a single axis solar tracking system providing an elevation angle of 20°at the EU PVSEC in Hamburg. The company has supplied over 45,000 systems for installation all over the world and announced its plans to enter the US solar market.
The single-axis TOPtraker 8.5 offering an elevation angle of 20° is designed to meet the needs of the US market and the company is planning to make the systems available in the US markets in late summer 2011. The smallest system from DEGERenergie is available with 20 or 30 ° elevation angle options and can be used for installations over buildings. The system is designed to be suitable for modules with a surface are of 8.5 sq.m and can be conveniently utilized with all the available solar modules. The system provides a rated power of 500 to 1,300 Wp depending on the type of module installed. The Intersolar North America held in July 2011 in San Francisco amply proved the potential of the USA to become a robust solar power market in the coming years and PV experts have endorsed its potential.
According to Michael Heck, DEGERenergie’s Vice President Marketing & Sales, globally solar power generation is witnessing a change in the options towards installation of medium and smaller sized solar power generation facilities instead of bigger sized solar farms and also there is a growing tendency towards self-power generation by small businesses and individuals. He explained that the company will utilize its broad portfolio of MLD tracking along with the negotiated agreements with energy storage facility suppliers will target the self-supply market.
