Gehrlicher Solar Italia, an auxiliary of Gehrlicher Solar, a Germany- based company, declared that it has completed five solar projects with a total capability to produce 10.4 MWp power in the Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy regions in northern Italy. White Owl Capital, a Berlin-based company has made the investment for all the projects.
The Polesine 2 solar park with 1.6 MWp capability and Polesine 3 with 1.3 MWp are located in the region of Emilia-Romagna. The other three solar parks namely the Cremosano, Dovera and Plazzo Pignano with 2.6 MWp, 1.3 MWP and 3.6 MWp respectively are located in Lombardy. The company has linked all the systems to the power grid before the implementation of reduction in feed-in-tariffs from 1st September 2011.
Gehrlicher Solar has taken the responsibility of completing all the five installations. It was involved right from site development, offering the needed technical engineering services and for financing the construction and completion of the project. The installations in all the five parks comprise a total of 133,680 solar modules produced by First Solar. The installations were complete with 15 inverters supplied by SMA to convert the generated solar power into AC current for linking to the grid. The installed systems will generate approximately 12.2 million kWh of clean power every year. The company has finished a number of rooftop as well as ground-mounted solar installations during the first six months in Northern Italy.
