JinkoSolar Holding, a China based solar products producer, has brought out remedial measures to deal with the environmental issues that arose at its production facility in Haining city, Zhejiang Province, China recently.
It was reported that Zhejiang Jinko, a fully owned auxiliary of JinkoSolar in Haining, Zhejiang Province, China, has released dangerous factory wastes into a river nearby, which incited the local residents to protest at its factory for a few days. The incident is being currently investigated by the local environmental protection authority. Respecting the fears conveyed by the local residents and to cooperate fully with the investigations of the government, Zhejiang Jinko has stopped its production functions at its factory in Haining to await the report on environmental harm if any caused and assessed, to undertake required remedial measures. Initial investigations performed by the environmental protection authorities stationed locally suggest that the pollution might have been induced due to inappropriate storage of wastes having fluoride.
Zhejiang Jinko will undertake all the needed measures to assure its adherence to all the existing environmental rules and regulations. It will address all inadequacies with remedial measures. The company is planning to resume the operations at its Haining facility in a few days time. The company has conveyed its apologies to the local residents and its own employees for the inconveniences created.
